01.18.2007 - Organizational Announcement

Pittsburgh , PA January 18, 2007: Robert Nelson announced today that as of January 1, 2007, he has concluded his tenure as President of R.L. Nelson and Associates, Inc. Bruce Nelson, head of the Microsoft division has purchased 100% of the stock and will serve as President and CEO. Bruce joined the firm 6 years ago and started the Microsoft division. According to Bruce “the experience of growing a new division has given me the skill sets and background I need to successfully assume this new role.” Moving forward, Robert Nelson will serve in a Strategic Development role. His responsibilities will include identifying key partner relationships and growth opportunities for the firm.

Bruce Nelson, CPA began working in public accounting in 1997. In this role he served a number of clients and industries and gained valuable experience in leading professional services teams. In October 2000, Bruce joined the R.L. Nelson and Associates, Inc. team. “I had grown up around the company. I had watched my father build a successful company from scratch and knew it was something that I wanted to be a part of. When he asked me to start the Great Plains (now called Microsoft Dynamics GP) practice I jumped at the opportunity.” Over the past six years this practice has grown significantly and now represents over 50% of the total business. Bruce holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Duquesne University and a Master of Science in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Pittsburgh program.

The primary goal of the firm is to provide high-quality products and services to small and mid-sized organizations throughout the eastern United States. 02.15.06 - R.L. Nelson and Associates, Inc. Acquires DCS, Inc. Great Plains Division

R.L. Nelson and Associates, Inc., a Microsoft Certified technology consulting company, announced that it has acquired the Microsoft Dynamics (formerly Great Plains) division of DCS, Inc, a technology consulting company based in Harrisonburg, Virginia. DCS assists companies with the selection and implementation of business management systems. R.L. Nelson and Associates, Inc. has purchased the assets of the division and hired key employees of DCS including consultants, helpdesk personnel and a business development manager.

Nelson and Associates, Inc. chief executive officer. “DCS, Inc has a long history of success in the business solutions market place and an excellent regional reputation.
